Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
