Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
